Philadelphia Awards Computronix the eCLIPSE Project

Denver, CO – Computronix is pleased to announce that its market-leading POSSE Land Management and Licensing System (“POSSE LMS”) software has been selected by the City of Philadelphia to replace its legacy software system in the Department of Licenses and Inspections (“L&I”).

Rich in history and culture, and experiencing a renewed focus on economic growth and development, the City of Philadelphia is the 5th largest City in the United States with a population of over 1.5 million. L&I serves the City, developers, businesses, and citizens by enforcing the Philadelphia Code and educating residents about the Code’s requirements. L&I issues licenses for trades and business, reviews plans and issues permits, and inspects properties and businesses.

Among other goals, the City’s objectives are to become the greenest and most sustainable City in America, and be a government that is more efficient and effective with integrity and responsiveness. L&I chose Computronix to help achieve these goals by implementing the innovative POSSE technology solution. The electronic Commercial Licensing, Inspection and Permit Services Enterprise Project, or “eCLIPSE”, will be a two-year multi-phased project culminating in the full deployment of POSSE LMS, a robust and state of the art permitting, licensing, and mobile inspection system.

POSSE LMS provides a streamlined, integrated solution with 24/7 public accessibility for meeting the time-sensitive needs of developers and businesses, internet-oriented citizens, and service-minded City staff.

“The Department of Licenses and Inspections completed a thorough evaluation of the market- leading software systems and vendors, and is very pleased to partner with Computronix to deliver a highly performing and proven system to better serve our City,” said Department of Licenses and Inspections Commissioner Carlton Williams. “This new system will allow the Department to continue its mission to be the nation’s leading code enforcement agency.”

Inducted into the Smithsonian Institute for Innovative Technology, Computronix’ awarding-winning and powerful POSSE software engine will support the complex and evolving needs of the City of Philadelphia. With its flexible and highly configurable platform, POSSE LMS is accessible via the web, readily available on mobile devices, and will interface with the City’s Geographic Information System to provide its staff and citizens with the most accurate and up-to-the-minute information.

“Computronix is pleased to have been chosen by the City of Philadelphia for this important project. In partnership with L&I, we are looking forward to implementing POSSE LMS to help the City achieve its goals and provide a reliable and innovative solution to serve its citizens,” said Gord Meeberg, Computronix Vice President of Business Development.
